TekLink provides insights towards ensuring workforce diversity by building analysis using  Hadoop and Tableau based on the data coming from SAP SuccessFactors.

 

 

About the Client:

A multinational food manufacturing company producing cereal and convenience foods.

 

Business Objectives:

  • Empower HR users to get insights regarding workforce diversity using data in a dashboard, across multiple dimensions
  • Give the ability to quickly identify any ‘deficiencies’ of a given ethnic group driving HR strategy to ensure fair representation across all employees
  • Develop an easy to use, intuitive dashboard which encompasses a global view of all employees in the company

 

The Solution:

The solution was built using Tableau with data coming from SAP SuccessFactors and staged in Hadoop, worked closely with our client to deliver the following solution:

  • An interactive dashboard to show the global summary of all employees in the workforce. Users can choose from 12+ filters (i.e. business unit, employee type, function, gender, age group etc.) to specify exactly which portion of the workforce would need further analysis.
  • Another dashboard to display the ethnicity breakdown for the company and identified if any group was not being fairly represented based on census data for the country/region.
  • Enabled the ability to download and export the dashboard as a PDF or image for use in internal presentations.
  • Integrated an automatic monthly refresh schedule, enabling long term sustainability with zero effort from the business

  • Direct engagement of the dashboard by several key users using the dashboard to drive team meetings and discussions/strategy in the future
  • First ever HR dashboard encompassing all employees globally
  • Insights gained from the dashboard driving key hiring decisions in the future, as it will allow the company to specifically target areas in the company that are lacking in representation of certain ethnic groups
  • Overwhelming acceptance and internal training on how to use the dashboard
